How it works

Find the friction. Redesign the conditions. Sustain the change.

See how the Friction Architecture™ Diagnostic identifies what holds performance back, the Redesign Studio turns evidence into structural change, and the annual health check shows what has held.

Start with a shared understanding

Many organisations first encounter this work in a room. The Whole Brain Potential™ Keynote introduces a different way to understand performance: it is created by the conditions people work in, not extracted from them. In one session, leaders, boards or conference audiences gain a shared language for patterns they may have experienced but struggled to name.

What does the keynote ask of you?

One session with your leadership team or audience. It stands on its own: you do not need to commit to a Diagnostic or a redesign to begin the conversation.

What do you take away?

A shared starting point for understanding how organisational conditions shape people’s ability to think, decide, collaborate and adapt.

Where can the conversation lead?

The keynote can create the appetite to look more closely at your own organisation. When you are ready to examine how work actually happens, the Friction Architecture™ Diagnostic provides an evidence-based next step.

1 · Diagnose the friction

A cross-section of at least ten people completes the Friction Architecture™ Diagnostic, weighing evidence about how work happens. After an online leadership debrief, your Friction Architecture™ Profile shows where friction sits, its financial and FTE cost, and three priorities for redesign.

2 · Redesign the conditions

Your Profile sets the route for the Redesign Studio. Leaders use a focused session of no more than 90 minutes to shape changes, then run each one as a 6–12 week experiment with clear owners and 90-day markers.

3 · Sustain what works

The annual health check re-runs the Diagnostic against your original baseline. An updated Profile shows what has moved, what has held and where to focus next, so progress is measured rather than assumed.

Diagnose how work actually happens

Cross-organisation questionnaire

At least ten people from across your organisation weigh evidence about how work happens, rather than report how they feel. Allow 20–25 minutes each.

Leadership results debrief

Review the findings with your leadership team in an online session and establish a shared view of where friction sits.

Friction Architecture™ Profile

Receive your Profile within five working days, with the evidence, costs and priorities needed to decide where to focus first.

What your Profile makes visible

Six neural conditions

See scores across the six neural conditions that shape how people think, decide, work together and adapt.

Seven organisational systems

Trace those scores to the seven organisational systems most likely to be producing the friction.

Your Friction Tax

Understand what the friction costs in financial and full-time-equivalent terms.

Three redesign priorities

Use a focused redesign brief to identify the top three changes to address first.

My Role

Facilitated or in-house

The Redesign Studio begins with a focused session of no more than 90 minutes. Leaders then run each change as a 6–12 week experiment, with a clear owner and 90-day markers. We can facilitate the work, or your team can run it in-house using our guides and tools. An optional Managers add-on helps managers lead well once the changes are in place.

STEP 3 · SUSTAIN

See what has changed — and what comes next

The Friction Architecture™ annual health check repeats the Diagnostic against your original baseline. Your updated Friction Architecture™ Profile shows where conditions have changed, what has held and where friction remains. A year-on-year comparison gives leaders a clear basis for setting the next priorities, rather than assuming progress has lasted.

“The Diagnostic changes what leaders know. The Redesign Studio changes what they do. The annual health check shows what has held.”

The journey from insight to lasting change

How the pieces fit together

The capacity was there all along

Whole Brain Potential™ is the capacity people already have, released by conditions designed for how the brain actually works. It means people can think clearly, make sound decisions, work together and adapt when circumstances change. That is the purpose of this work: to help organisations see where their systems create friction, redesign the conditions behind it and keep checking whether those changes hold. Performance is created by conditions, not extracted from people.

Questions about the journey

Start with the conversation, session or evidence that is most useful to your organisation now.

Can we book the Keynote or Diagnostic independently?

Yes. Each can be booked on its own. The Keynote creates a shared starting point; the Diagnostic produces your Friction Architecture™ Profile.

Why does the Redesign Studio follow a Diagnostic?

Your Profile shows where friction sits and sets the Studio’s personalised route. You can book the Diagnostic and Studio together, but the Diagnostic comes first.

How do we measure progress over time?

The annual health check re-runs the Diagnostic against your first baseline. Its updated Profile shows what has moved and where to focus next.
