Friction Architecture™ annual health check · Step 3 of 3: Sustain

See what has moved, and what to focus on next

The annual health check re-runs the Diagnostic against your original baseline – so progress is measured, not assumed.

Change that isn’t measured tends to be forgotten

Organisations change constantly. New people arrive, new priorities land, a new tool rolls out, a team is reorganised. Each can quietly reintroduce friction you worked hard to remove – or create new friction somewhere else.

The annual health check gives you a structured, comparable read a year on. Because it uses the same instrument as your first Diagnostic, you compare like with like: the same six neural conditions, the same seven organisational systems and a Friction Tax calculated the same way.

What you receive

An updated Friction Architecture™ Profile

See where friction sits now across the six neural conditions and seven organisational systems.

A year-on-year comparison

See what has improved, what has held and where new friction has appeared since your original baseline.

An updated Friction Tax and next priorities

See the change in capacity absorbed by friction, in financial and FTE terms. An updated redesign brief and an online debrief with your leadership team help agree the next cycle.

How the annual health check works

Step 1

Invite at least ten people to take part, as with your original Diagnostic.

Step 2

Each person completes the same Diagnostic in 20–25 minutes.

Step 3

Receive your updated Friction Architecture™ Profile within five working days.

Who it is for

The annual health check is for organisations that have completed the Friction Architecture™ Diagnostic, whether or not they went on to the Redesign Studio. By comparing the same measures with your original baseline, it shows what has improved, what has held and where new friction has appeared. For boards, trustees and investors, it provides evidence of what has actually shifted and helps make the next priorities clear.

Keep the architecture working for your people

See what has moved since your original Diagnostic, measure progress like for like and agree what to focus on next.
